The Fire

From the series “Stories of 5 elements”

At the very beginning of universe all 5 elements where united. Wind, Fire, Earth, Water, and Space — together they had the power to arise to the great knowledge that had no desire. In the abbey of peace, they rested not knowing sadness or sorrow.

Sometimes they would escape and play with each other. The Fire was the most enthusiastic of all. Playing with Wind, Fire obtained more strength. Playing with Earth Fire was able to boost or demolish Life. With Space, Fire loved to light up the deepest corners to see what was hidden there. And everybody loved Fire.

Year over year Fire got stronger. Fire learned how to hide from Wind and how to run across the Water.

One day Fire saw the diamond and in the diamond Fire was able to see millions of its own reflections. Fire saw his glory and strength multiplied millions and millions of times and he couldn’t stop rejoicing his own greatness. Many days passed but Fire still was looking in the diamond. Fire was watching how his flames played on the edges of the stone and it was mesmerizing. Water, Wind, Earth and Space missed Fire.

Earth became very disappointed that Fire didn’t play with her any more. She decided to take the diamond and burry it so deep that Fire could have never found it. And that was it, Earth took all the diamonds buried them in the ground.

Fire became very angry as he could not enjoy his beauty any more multiplied millions of time. He started burning the Earth looking for the diamonds. He blazed as hard as he could, and no one could stop him. Life was demolished from the Earth but Fire couldn’t find the diamond. Then Fire started looking under the ocean and he brought all Water into the clouds to find diamond on the ocean bed. And yet the stone was not there. Fire was very upset. Never again would he see his own beauty and strength shining like a millions of suns.

Fire got on the edge of the cliff. He was so upset that he started crying. However, Fire had no flames any more to cry with. Instead, Light came out of his eyes. And Fire saw Light that was pure and that was shining millions times stronger even than the flames’ reflections in diamond.

“What have I done!” — cried Fire, “I killed all the life on the Earth and drained the ocean…
