How I save tons of money on my ego, daily
Shopping in San Francisco can be fun. I almost bought $148 hoodie today. It was supposed to prove me I deserved it. It was about my personal dissatisfaction of who I was at that exact moment of time. And it was about me proving myself I was someone. In fact we can spend lots of money just to sustain a state of satisfaction or proove ourself something.
So I started thinking where it was coming from, the need to proove I was someone. Right there, in the fitting room, it grasped my mind: our true nature doesn`t need a proof but still why we need it.
And this was the moment we met again: me and the strongest construction in the universe. The strongest, almost undemolishable construction, that is my ego. Ego— the way we identify ourselves, our beliefs, our values, our attachments—that makes us who we are. Built and sustained by every breath we take, supported with all the energy we have, our ego is something that can hardly be abolished in a lifetime. Ego is responsible to give the marks of good and bad to the universe and it helps us in many ways — to achieve success, to be happy, to navigate in this world, to attain what we desire. Also it is responsible for the feeling of sorrow or identification of failure. Mine definitely is.
My ego is so strong, it can find its own ways throughout to shine in the sun. Properly treated…
